So I have chronicled my game of "hurry up and wait" with the DOB in Brooklyn, here in previous posts to this blog.

Well now we have approval. We have permits. And after an inspection, we have the approval to pour our concrete footings in one pour instead of three separate pours.

It seems my backyard is full of old basements, walls and sediment that takes a jackhammer to break up, so no worries of the sides falling in. And lucky for us, we've found no bones, oil, or cultural relics — so we are digging as fast as we can... and then carrying it to the dumpster... one bucket at a time.

Looks like a future living room for the garden apartment to me! Can you see it?
