Today I was really glad to play the role of the nervous homeowner as the team went to great pains to install the beam we needed to shore up the house.

First Chris had to take out all the closing work they had done last week to get a clear throw for the beam and its supports. Its always sad when you have to redo work, but the end results is worth the effort.

Then the beam went up on shoulders - with Chris on the stairs and Raul and Luis on ladders and little Chris ready with the vertical 4x4 support beam.

In the end, the beam sat perfectly square into the notch on the brick wall that Chris had carved out for it.

Now we have a nice strong base to hold up the ton of tile and slipper tub I am adding right above this space, in the Master bath.

A great effort for all involved and I was perfectly content to buy beer and sweep up.
